In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Jayant Sinha of BJP won in this seat defeating Gopal Prasad Sahu of INC by a margin of 4,79,548 votes which was 44.36% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 67.4% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Jayant Sinha of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Saurabh Narain Singh of INC by a margin of 1,59,128 votes which was 16.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 42.08% in the seat.
