In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sunil Soren of BJP won in this seat defeating Shibu Soren of JMM by a margin of 47,590 votes which was 4.64% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 47.26% in 2019 in this seat.
