In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dr Jitendra Singh of BJP won in this seat defeating Vikramaditya Singh of INC by a margin of 3,57,252 votes which was 30.27% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 61.24% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Jitendra Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ghulam Nabi Azad of INC by a margin of 60,976 votes which was 5.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 46.78% in the seat.
