In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Jyotsna Charandas Mahant of INC won in this seat defeating Jyoti Nand Dubey of BJP by a margin of 26,249 votes which was 2.31% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 46.01% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Banshilal Mahto of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Charan Das Mahant of INC by a margin of 4,265 votes which was 0.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 40.7% in the seat.
