In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sunil Kumar Pintu of JDU won in this seat defeating Arjun Ray of RJD by a margin of 2,50,539 votes which was 24.12% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 54.61% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Ram Kumar Sharma of RLSP emerged victorious in this seat beating Sitaram Yadav of RJD by a margin of 1,47,965 votes which was 16.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. RLSP secured a vote share of 45.67% in the seat.
