In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rama Devi of BJP won in this seat defeating Syed Faisal Ali of RJD by a margin of 3,40,360 votes which was 33.88% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 60.57% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Rama Devi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Md Anwarul Haque of RJD by a margin of 1,36,239 votes which was 16.16% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 44.19% in the seat.
