In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Chhedi Paswan of BJP won in this seat defeating Meira Kumar of INC by a margin of 1,65,745 votes which was 17% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 50.72% in 2019 in this seat.
