In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP won in this seat defeating Chandrika Roy of RJD by a margin of 1,38,411 votes which was 14.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 52.99% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Rajiv Pratap Rudi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Rabri Devi of RJD by a margin of 40,948 votes which was 4.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 41.14% in the seat.
