In the October 21, 2019 bypolls for Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency, Prince Raj of LJP won from this seat defeating Dr Ashok Kumar of INC by a margin of 1,02,090 votes which was 12.94% of the total votes cast for the seat. LJP had a vote share of 49.48% in the bye-elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ramchandra Paswan of LJP won in this seat defeating Dr Ashok Kumar of INC by a margin of 2,51,643 votes which was 24.69% of the total votes cast for the seat. LJP had a vote share of 55.15% in 2019 in this seat.
