In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dr Alok Kumar Suman of JDU won in this seat defeating Surendra Ram of RJD by a margin of 2,86,434 votes which was 27.95% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 55.37% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Janak Ram of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dr Jyoti Bharti of INC by a margin of 2,86,936 votes which was 31.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 52.99% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Purnmasi Ram of JDU won this seat beating Anil Kumar of RJD by a margin of 42,472 votes which was 8.42% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDU had a vote share of 39.64% in the seat.
