In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ajay Kumar Mandal of JDU won in this seat defeating Shailesh Kumar Alias Vulo Mandal of RJD by a margin of 2,77,630 votes which was 26.63% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 59.27% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Shailesh Kumar (Bulo Mandle) of RJD emerged victorious in this seat beating Syed Shahnawaz Hussain of BJP by a margin of 9,485 votes which was 0.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. RJD secured a vote share of 37.74% in the seat.
