In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rajdeep Roy of BJP won in this seat defeating Sushmita Dev of INC by a margin of 81,596 votes which was 8.59% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 52.53% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Sushmita Dev of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Kabindra Purkayastha of BJP by a margin of 35,241 votes which was 4.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 42.14% in the seat.
