In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Pallab Lochan Das of BJP won in this seat defeating M G V K Bhanu of INC by a margin of 2,42,841 votes which was 20.4% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.4% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Ram Prasad Sarmah of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Bhupen Kumar Borah of INC by a margin of 86,020 votes which was 8.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 45.53% in the seat.
