In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dilip Saikia of BJP won in this seat defeating Bhubaneswar Kalita of INC by a margin of 1,38,545 votes which was 9.2% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 48.82% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ramen Deka of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Kirip Chaliha of INC by a margin of 22,884 votes which was 1.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 39.44% in the seat.
