In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Thomas Chazhikadan of KCM won in this seat defeating V N Vasavan of CPIM by a margin of 1,06,259 votes which was 11.67% of the total votes cast for the seat. KCM had a vote share of 46.24% in 2019 in this seat.
