In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rajmohan Unnithan of INC won in this seat defeating K P Sathishchandran of CPIM by a margin of 40,438 votes which was 3.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 43.17% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, P Karunakaran of CPM emerged victorious in this seat beating Adv T Siddique of INC by a margin of 6,921 votes which was 0.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM secured a vote share of 39.52% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, P Karunakaran of CPM won this seat beating Shahida Kamal of INC by a margin of 64,427 votes which was 7.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 45.45% in the seat.

Udma: Bedadka, Chemnad, Delampady, Kuttikole and Muliyar Panchayats in Kasaragod Taluk and Pallikere, Pullur-Periya and Udma Panchayats in Hosdurg Taluk; 4. Kanhangad: Kanhangad Muncipality and Ajanur, Balal, Kallar, Kinanoor – Karindalam, Kodom-Belur, Madikai and Panathady Panchayats in Hosdurg Taluk; 5.
