In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Adv Dean Kuriakose of INC won in this seat defeating Adv, Joice George of IND by a margin of 1,71,053 votes which was 18.61% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 54.21% in 2019 in this seat.
