In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Anantkumar Hegde of BJP won in this seat defeating Anand Asnotikar of JDS by a margin of 4,79,649 votes which was 41.58% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 68.09% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Anantkumar Hegde of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Prashant R Deshpande of INC by a margin of 1,40,700 votes which was 14.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 54.64% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Anantkumar Hegde of BJP won this seat beating Alva Margaret of INC by a margin of 22,769 votes which was 2.99% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 44.61% in the seat.
