In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Shobha Karandlaje of BJP won in this seat defeating Pramod Madhwaraj of JDS by a margin of 3,49,599 votes which was 30.37% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 62.43% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Shobha Karandlaje of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating K Jayaprakash Hegde of INC by a margin of 1,81,643 votes which was 17.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 56.2% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, D V Sadananda Gowda of BJP won this seat beating KJayaprakash Hegde of INC by a margin of 27,018 votes which was 3.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 48.06% in the seat.
