In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, B Y Raghavendra of BJP won in this seat defeating S Madhubangarappa of JDS by a margin of 2,23,360 votes which was 17.4% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 56.84% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, B S Yeddyurappa of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Manjunath Bhandary of INC by a margin of 3,63,305 votes which was 32.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 53.69% in the seat.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, B Y Raghavendra of BJP won this seat beating S Bangarappa of INC by a margin of 52,893 votes which was 5.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.58% in the seat.
