In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sumalatha Ambareesh of IND won in this seat defeating Nikhil Kumaraswamy of JDS by a margin of 1,25,876 votes which was 9.13% of the total votes cast for the seat. IND had a vote share of 51% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, C S Puttaraju of JDS emerged victorious in this seat beating Ramya of INC by a margin of 5,518 votes which was 0.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDS secured a vote share of 42.76% in the seat.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, N Cheluvaraya Swamy (Swamygowda) of JDS won this seat beating M H Ambareesh of INC by a margin of 23,500 votes which was 2.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDS had a vote share of 37.24% in the seat.
