In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Karadi Sanganna Amarappa of BJP won in this seat defeating K Rajashekar Basavaraj Hitnal of INC by a margin of 38,397 votes which was 3.23% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 49.28% in 2019 in this seat.
