In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Nalin Kumar Kateel of BJP won in this seat defeating Mithun M Rai of INC by a margin of 2,74,621 votes which was 20.42% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.55% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Nalin Kumar Kateel of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Janardhana Poojary of INC by a margin of 1,43,709 votes which was 11.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 53.23% in the seat.
