In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Jigajinagi Ramesh Chandappa of BJP won in this seat defeating Dr Sunita Devanand Chavan of JDS by a margin of 2,58,038 votes which was 23.22% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.16% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ramesh Jigajinagi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Prakash Rathod of INC by a margin of 69,819 votes which was 7.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 48.8% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi of BJP won this seat beating Prakash Kubasing Rathod of INC by a margin of 42,404 votes which was 6.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 47.55% in the seat.
