In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Tejasvi Surya of BJP won in this seat defeating B K Hariprasad of INC by a margin of 3,31,192 votes which was 27.87% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 62.14% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ananthkumar of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Nandan Nilekani of INC by a margin of 2,28,575 votes which was 20.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 56.91% in the seat.
