In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, D V Sadananda Gowda of BJP won in this seat defeating Krishna Byregowda of INC by a margin of 1,47,518 votes which was 9.46% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 52.84% in 2019 in this seat.
