In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sanjay Seth of BJP won in this seat defeating Subodh Kant Sahay of INC by a margin of 2,82,780 votes which was 22.9% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.18% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ram Tahal Choudhary of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Subodh Kant Sahay of INC by a margin of 1,99,303 votes which was 18.99% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 42.74% in the seat.
