In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sanjay Seth of BJP won in this seat defeating Subodh Kant Sahay of INC by a margin of 2,82,780 votes which was 22.9% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 57.18% in 2019 in this seat.
