In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Bidyut Baran Mahato of BJP won in this seat defeating Champai Soren of JMM by a margin of 3,02,090 votes which was 26.4% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 59.39% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Bidyut Baran Mahato of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ajay Kumar of JMMP by a margin of 99,876 votes which was 9.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 44.24% in the seat.
