In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Chandra Prakash Choudhary of AJSUP won in this seat defeating Jagarnath Mahto of JMM by a margin of 2,48,347 votes which was 22.44% of the total votes cast for the seat. AJSUP had a vote share of 58.55% in 2019 in this seat.
