In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Suresh Kumar Kashyap of BJP won in this seat defeating Dhani Ram Shandil of INC by a margin of 3,27,514 votes which was 35.85% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 66.24% in 2019 in this seat.
