In 2014, Adv Narendra Keshav Sawaikar of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco of INC by a margin of 32,330 votes which was 7.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 48.44% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha of INC won this seat beating Adv Narendra Keshav Sawaikar of BJP by a margin of 12,516 votes which was 4.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 46.87% in the seat.
