In 2014, Adv Narendra Keshav Sawaikar of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco of INC by a margin of 32,330 votes which was 7.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 48.44% in the seat.
