In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Chandan Singh of LJP won in this seat defeating Vibha Devi of RJD by a margin of 1,48,072 votes which was 15.71% of the total votes cast for the seat. LJP had a vote share of 52.47% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Giriraj Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Raj Ballabh Prasad of RJD by a margin of 1,40,157 votes which was 15.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 44.12% in the seat.
