In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rajiv Ranjan Singh Alias Lalan Singh of JDU won in this seat defeating Nilam Devi of INC by a margin of 1,67,937 votes which was 16.21% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 51.02% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Veena Devi of LJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Rajiv Ranjan Singh Alias Lalan Singh of JDU by a margin of 1,09,084 votes which was 11.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. LJP secured a vote share of 38.6% in the seat.
