In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ramprit Mandal of JDU won in this seat defeating Gulab Yadav of RJD by a margin of 3,22,951 votes which was 30.45% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 56.7% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Virender Kumar Choudhary of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Mangani Lal Mandal of RJD by a margin of 55,408 votes which was 5.89% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 35.64% in the seat.
