In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Chandeshwar Prasad of JDU won in this seat defeating Surendra Prasad Yadav of RJD by a margin of 1,751 votes which was 0.21% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 40.81% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Arun Kumar of RLSP emerged victorious in this seat beating Surendra Prasad Yadav of RJD by a margin of 42,340 votes which was 5.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. RLSP secured a vote share of 39.76% in the seat.
