In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Vijay Kumar of JDU won in this seat defeating Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAMS by a margin of 1,52,426 votes which was 15.92% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 48.77% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Hari Manjhi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ramji Manjhi of RJD by a margin of 1,15,504 votes which was 14.27% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 40.31% in the seat.
