In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Giriraj Singh of BJP won in this seat defeating Kanhaiya Kumar of CPI by a margin of 4,22,217 votes which was 34.45% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 56.44% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Bhola Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Md Tanveer Hassan of RJD by a margin of 58,335 votes which was 5.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 39.73% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Monazir Hassan of JDU won this seat beating Shatrughna Prasad Singh of CPI by a margin of 40,837 votes which was 5.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDU had a vote share of 28.63% in the seat.
