In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Badruddin Ajmal of AIUDF won in this seat defeating Abu Taher Bepari of INC by a margin of 2,26,258 votes which was 13.43% of the total votes cast for the seat. AIUDF had a vote share of 42.66% in 2019 in this seat.
