In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Kiren Rijiju of BJP won in this seat defeating Nabam Tuki of INC by a margin of 1,74,843 votes which was 48.8% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 62.02% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Kiren Rijiju of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Takam Sanjoy of INC by a margin of 41,738 votes which was 12.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 50.46% in the seat.
