In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Tapir Gao of BJP won in this seat defeating Lowangcha Wanglat of INC by a margin of 69,948 votes which was 23.81% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 52.04% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ninong Ering of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Tapir Gao of BJP by a margin of 12,478 votes which was 4.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 45.33% in the seat.
