In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Kanumuru Raghu Rama Krishna Raju of YSRCP won in this seat defeating V V Siva Rama Raju (Kalavapudi Siva) of TDP by a margin of 32,676 votes which was 2.77% of the total votes cast for the seat. YSRCP had a vote share of 38.1% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Gokaraju Ganga Raju of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Vanka Ravindranath of YSRCP by a margin of 85,351 votes which was 7.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 49.62% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Bapiraju Kanumuru of INC won this seat beating Thota Sita Rama Lakshmi of TDP by a margin of 1,14,690 votes which was 11.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 39.24% in the seat.
