According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 84.39%, while it was 84.32% in 2016, and 86.16% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Debes Mandal of TMC won in this constituency beating Nemai Das of BJP by a margin of 24916 votes which was 12.91% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Debes Mandal of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Anandamay Mandal of CPI by a margin of 30304 votes which was 16.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Anandamay Mandal of CPI won this seat defeating Debes Mandal of TMC by a margin of 1015 votes which was 0.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Debes Mandal of TMC had a vote share of 54.27% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Debes Mandal of TMC got a vote share of 53% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Anandamay Mandal of CPI got a vote share of 45.75% in Hingalganj.
