In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Jayanta Naskar of TMC won in this constituency beating Barun Pramanik (Chitta) of BJP by a margin of 23709 votes which was 12.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Jayanta Naskar of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Uttam Kumar Saha of RSP by a margin of 19671 votes which was 10.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jayanta Naskar of TMC won this seat defeating Samarendra Nath Mandal of RSP by a margin of 10682 votes which was 6.91% of the total votes polled for the seat.
