In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Arekapudi Gandhi of TRS won in this seat defeating V Ananda Prasad of TDP by a margin of 44,295 which was 15.83% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 51.22% in 2018 in this seat.
