In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Maha Reddy Bhupal Reddy of TRS won in this seat defeating Suresh Kumar Shetkar of INC by a margin of 58,508 which was 33.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 55% in 2018 in this seat.
