In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Gampa Govardhan of TRS won in this seat defeating Mohd Ali Shabbir of INC by a margin of 4,557 which was 2.81% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 42.02% in 2018 in this seat.
