In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Shakil Aamir Mohammed of TRS won in this seat defeating Sudarshan Reddy Podduturi of INC by a margin of 8,101 which was 5.1% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 47.14% in 2018 in this seat.
