In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, V M Abraham of TRS won in this seat defeating S A Sampath Kumar of INC by a margin of 44,679 which was 24.87% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 56.83% in 2018 in this seat.
